Salvage Question - Guild Wars Forums

Ok my friend had these 2 items (see screen shots) and he could not Expert Salvage either of them. He also tried a normal salvage kit and that did not work either. Any one have any knowledge as to why they would not salvage.

i know that the sword is a reward for finishing a quest and therefore can not be salvaged.

Ok cool, thanks. Maybe the staff is the same I will have to ask him, unless someone else here knows
